# Ghetto Film School Fellows Program The Fellows Program is Ghetto Film School's flagship, completely free filmmaking and creative producing course for high school students in New York, Los Angeles, and London. Founded in the Bronx in 2000, GFS trains young storytellers through immersive, college-level instruction - the New York program runs about 20 months and the Los Angeles program about 30 months, with more than 1,000 hours of training. ## What You'll Do - Learn narrative filmmaking from leading media makers and industry experts - Visit live sets and studios, and premiere your films at prestigious theaters - Travel internationally to produce an original thesis film with your cohort - Receive college application advising and test-prep support - Access internship placements and career opportunities at top media and creative companies ## Who Should Apply High school students in the New York or Los Angeles metro areas (incoming applicants are between the ages of 14 and 18). No filmmaking experience or equipment is required - the program provides training, travel, and equipment free of charge. ## Outcomes Fellows graduate with a professionally produced thesis film shot abroad, a substantial portfolio and reel, industry relationships, and structured college and career support. GFS alumni work across the film and media industry.
