About ExtracurricularHub

What is ExtracurricularHub?

ExtracurricularHub is a free discovery platform that helps high school students find extracurricular opportunities — competitions, internships, summer programs, scholarships, volunteering, clubs, and leadership experiences. We organize 1,700+ catalog entries in one searchable place, with cost, eligibility, deadlines, format, location, and where to apply on each.

Who it's for

  • High school students (freshmen through seniors) building a focused extracurricular profile for college applications.
  • Parents and counselors looking for a trusted reference of reputable programs and deadlines.
  • Universities, nonprofits, and companies offering opportunities to high schoolers who want to reach motivated students nationwide.
  • Teachers, club advisors, and mentors curating opportunity lists for their students.

What types of opportunities are listed

Why we exist

Information about high school opportunities is scattered across school bulletin boards, university websites, social media threads, and word of mouth. Students with strong networks tend to hear about more programs than students without those networks — a gap that has nothing to do with talent or motivation. ExtracurricularHub exists to close that gap by making opportunity information centralized, searchable, and free.

How opportunities are selected and organized

Programs are added by our editorial team and supplemented by direct submissions. Each listing identifies its title, taxonomy, organization, eligibility, deadline, location, format, cost, dates, and application destination wherever those details are available. A field we hold nothing for is left off rather than filled in.

Editorial standards and corrections

Listing data publishes when an administrator or import job supplies a structurally valid record. The newest structurally valid enrichment is used automatically, while missing or unannounced details stay unknown. Anyone can report an error from a listing page or via contact.

Private import, source, model, and review metadata is removed from public responses. Aggregate catalog data is published on the statistics page, each figure with the denominator it was computed over, alongside a CC BY 4.0 CSV.

Who runs ExtracurricularHub

ExtracurricularHub was founded by Parker, a high school student who built the tool he wished existed while researching programs himself, and is maintained with a small editorial team. That origin shapes the rules the site runs on: student discovery tools are free to use, sources stay visible, and editorial decisions are made from the student's side of the table. How organizations can submit opportunities

Universities, nonprofits, companies, and program organizers can submit their high-school programs through our submission form. Submissions are reviewed by our editorial team before being added to the directory. There is no fee to be listed.
