# Neuroscience Research Prize The Neuroscience Research Prize is awarded by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), the world's largest professional association of neurologists, to encourage high school students to explore the brain and nervous system through original research. The prize also recognizes science teachers who support student neuroscience research. In the most recent cycle, applications closed October 21, 2025, and the next cycle typically follows the same fall timeline. ## What You'll Do - Conduct an original research project related to neuroscience — laboratory, computational, or behavioral - Write up your work; applications must represent your original research and your own written work - Submit your application during the fall window - If selected as a winner, present your findings during a scientific poster session at the AAN Annual Meeting ## Who Should Apply Students enrolled in secondary school (grades 9-12) in the United States, regardless of age.
