# Leaders-in-Training Leaders-in-Training (LIT) is the National Inventors Hall of Fame's summer leadership program for middle schoolers, embedded in Camp Invention sites across the country. Instead of attending as campers, students in grades 7-9 serve as mentors and role models: they guide younger campers through hands-on STEM and invention challenges while working through their own weeklong leadership training curriculum. ## What You'll Do - Complete structured leadership training alongside the weeklong Camp Invention session at a site near you - Mentor small groups of younger campers through invention-themed STEM activities - Practice communication, responsibility, and group management with real kids and real projects - Take home leadership assignments and materials that extend past the week ## Who Should Apply Students entering grades 7-9 who want an early, age-appropriate leadership role - especially former Camp Invention campers ready to move up. Because Camp Invention runs at thousands of school sites nationwide, most families can find a local program; dates and hours vary by location. ## Outcomes LITs finish the week with genuine mentoring experience, a leadership credential from a national nonprofit (the National Inventors Hall of Fame, which also runs Camp Invention and Club Invention), and a natural stepping stone toward the organization's high school Leadership Intern Program.
